Our Story

My childhood was spent roaming the "woods" of my parent's 12 acres in rural Kiel, WI. Kiel was a wonderful place to grow up, but after high school I yearned for a big city. I decided to move to Minneapolis after graduation and pursue a career in Audio Engineering.
I needed a part-time job to help pay the rent throughout school, and being an accomplished bagger at the Piggy Wiggly back home, I immediately applied at the Lunds grocery store not far from my apartment. I had also applied at a few other spots, but Lunds was the first to call and offer me a job. The day after I had accepted the grocery position, a manager from the Borders bookstore in downtown Minneapolis called. I was offered a better-paying job at the bookstore, and at the advice of a close friend I exchanged my Lunds polo shirt for a Borders name badge. I didn't know it at the time, but that decision would lead to a relationship of 7 years with the most caring, driven, and beautiful person I have ever known.
I bought a ring in May of 2013 without a plan for the proposal. It sat in a drawer in my office for a few months before a trip to Portland revealed itself as the perfect opportunity to "pop the question." Again, without a plan, we spent the day driving along the Oregon Coast. Whitney suggested that we watch the sun set over the ocean. (Yes!) With the help of my sister, I asked Whitney to marry me against the most gorgeous backdrop I could have imagined - and she said yes!
I am incredibly lucky to know Whitney, and even more lucky that she has agreed to marry me. I can't wait to officially start our lives together, and am so happy our friends and family will join us to celebrate!

I grew up in York, Pennsylvania, but always felt drawn to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. After graduating from high school, I moved to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota and make Minnesota my home.
In 2006, I got a part-time job at Borders Books where a tall, lanky guy from Wisconsin with a big smile and propensity for air-drumming caught my eye. We developed a strong friendship over after-work dinners of cream cheese rolls and green curry at King & I Thai. Friendship soon blossomed into a summer romance complete with movies, music and trips to the lake.
The summer romance of 2007 has since turned into seven amazing years filled with a semester in Scotland, a road trip to the East Coast, a degree from the U of M, starting a career, two apartments, two cats, camping trips, grape picking, cook outs with friends, nursing school, and holidays with families. These wonderful memories all led to a special trip to the Oregon Coast where, while the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, the guy from Wisconsin asked me to be his wife.
I am so excited to celebrate the love Drew and I share with the family and friends who have supported us along the way!
